Don Jon Preview

New film created by Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Being a movie fan and JGL fan I have been following his progression from actor to now writer and director. He has kept his fans up to date about his up coming movie and directorial debut titled "Don Jon". We got to see him work on the movie and debut it at this years Sundance film festival where it got picked up to be released for the rest of us to enjoy. The story is about a guy who is really into his "things" in life, like his body, his women, his family, even his porn. The movie revolves around Don Jon who looks at everything in his life, even the women he meets, as objects and how he learns how there is more to life than going out every night and hooking up with different girls but you can actually love someone else and treat them like a person not a thing. I think in today's world this story rings true for a lot of people which is why I think this movie will bring a lot of people in and make them really look at how they view the "things" they love in their life. As for Joe I am so happy and proud of him as a creator of film. I think he is heading in the right direction to having a long lasting and amazing career in Hollywood where he hopefully continues making movies that make us think and not just make us feel good. The set release date right now is October 18th so be sure to check it out. Here is our first look at "Don Jon".

New Judges All Around

Out with the old, in with the new

As most people know a lot of today's television programming is made up of a lot of reality shows and reality competition shows and has been for years. Many of today's competition shows are having a very similar problem with keeping their judges season after season. To some this might not matter or bother them but to me I think it is hard for the viewers and contestants to deal with. When the judges change the whole dynamic of the show changes. You now have to worry if this person will get along with this person and how they will act as a judge. I just feel like if you are going to commit to the show really think about it or let us know that every judge that comes on is only doing a season because as viewers we become used to that person and then are like wait what? As many of these shows are either just ending a season or just starting a season many of them are not the same as they were the season before.

"The X-Factor" known for being the brain child of Mr. Simon Cowell did ok last season with the judges being Simon, L.A. Reid, Britney Spears, and Demi Lavato. As I mentioned in an early post Britney quit the show at the end of the season after rumors swirled she was going to be fired and L.A. Reid also left the show leaving two positions to fill. This coming season Simon and Demi will be back and joined by Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child and Paulina Rubio. People are already dubbing the group Simon's "angels" after the famed TV show "Charlie's Angels". I don't know how this group will mix to be honest, but if the girls all play nice things should be ok.

"America's Got Talent" is coming back next month but not with the same faces as last season either. Last season the judges were Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel, and Howard Stern. First off I don't think of these people as being the people I want telling me what talent is but that is just me. After feuding with NBC Sharon left the show and has been replaced with two new judges Mel B from the Spice Girls (which hey they might have been popular back in the day but at least she has talent) and also super model Heidi Klum. Which by the way love that the two new judges are not American which I guess doesn't really matter. There could be some sparks with this group since I feel most of them have strong personalities and opinions. We will see soon how they work together.

"American Idol" has been passing us around from judge to judge for years so I have kind of gotten used to it because we always had the constant of good ole Randy Jackson there to tell us who was "in it to win it" but after having a crazy season sharing the panel with Keith Urban, Mariah Carey, and Nicki Minaj (which was hard to deal with for everyone sometimes) all four judges are going to be replaced this coming season. Because the season just ended and the show doesn't start auditions for another couple months we have no word on who the new judges will be but I don't know who I would even want them to be. It will be weird watching the show without Randy Jackson there I feel, though I am happy that for now Ryan Seacrest is sticking around otherwise I would say lets end this thing and call it good on AI.

"The Voice" being one of the newer competition shows kept it pretty constant for a while having the judges be Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Ceelo Green for the first three seasons. This season Christina and Ceelo are gone working on their own careers while new mom Shakira stepped in along with Usher. The great thing about these judges are they are all current and very talented at what they do so I feel like what they say to the contestants is always valid and right on point. The interaction with the judges as also been good (though we all noticed the sexual tension between Christina and Adam there for awhile). Even though Christina and Ceelo were gone this season they have announced they are coming back for season five and Usher and Shakira are coming back for season six. What we don't know about season six is if we will have four or six judges? I don't think it would be horrible if all six were there, but we will see what happens.

And finally we have "Dancing With The Stars" which has had the same judges for the entire 16 seasons of the show though are now talking about possibly getting new judges to compete with "The Voice" for viewers. As a lover of DWTS I have to say the show would not be the same without Bruno, Carrie Ann, and good ole Len. I hope they stick around until they kick this show off the air one day years from now.

Tom Cruise to do "Mission Impossible 5"

Tom Cruise Will Star In Fifth "Mission Impossible"

It was confirmed earlier this week that there will be a "Mission Impossible 5" and as usual Tom Cruise will be acting in the staring role. Even though these two things have been decided many other important factors such as when it will come out, who will write and even direct the film have still not been released and maybe not even decided at this point. To me I feel like pretty much every movie Tom Cruise does is some version of "Mission Impossible" since this man loves and thrives off doing movies like this that allow him to do as many crazy action scenes as he and others can come up with. I can see him doing these movies until his literally is to old to do them (which might be awhile since it looks like the guy isn't aging much). I am sure we will learn more soon enough and regardless of who writes or directs the next film I am sure it will be similar to the rest of the movies which means it will still do well at the box office and make millions.

Sequels From Sony

Sony is bringing sequels to some fan favorite films

As we all know these days if a movie does well at all in theaters a sequel is usually in the works. This is why it is sometimes hard to find a really original movie these days, not to say that all sequels are bad. Sony is planning on releasing two sequels that I feel are going to make many fans happy (or not?)

First we can expect to see a "21 Jump Street 2' in theaters next summer bringing Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum back to play the roles of undercover cops. This movie will show them after they leave high school as undercover cops and have them moving on to college doing the same job. If you saw the first movie you know this means the two will be doing their jobs while still getting crazy, having fun, and getting into some trouble. I am sure this movie will be full of outrageous moments that leave us laughing our butts off and wondering what will they do next. This movie will no doubt be a highlight of the summer season next year.

Sony has also said they are in the process of creating a "Men In Black 4". The film is still in the very early stages, so not much is known about it yet and no one has even signed on for it yet including star Will Smith. Personally if they can not get Will Smith to do this film I would say they just shouldn't make it. What would "Men In Black" be without Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones?? I can tell you it wouldn't be the same so hopefully they don't try to continue the franchise without these two. If these two sign off and join the film I say go for it and that if the script is good it will probably bring in a lot of money just like the third film did.

Good News For "Glee"

Good things coming for the cast of "Glee"

A few weeks ago I posted about how we didn't know what the future held for the show and cast of "Glee". Some of the shows main characters were having major life changes (Cory Monteith going to rehab and Heather Morris announcing her pregnancy) and the show had not yet been picked up for a 5th season. Well we finally know what is going to happen to this great show, we get two more seasons of "Glee". Fox has decided to renew the show for two more seasons and I have a feeling we will be seeing much more of the cast in New York City than Ohio since Rachael, Kurt, and Santana are already there and Blaine and Artie are planning on moving there after graduation. I think this is a great move since most people love this show because of the original characters and want to see where they end up. I am sure they will somehow figure out a way to get Finn to New York every once and awhile to keep everyone's "Finchel" dream alive.

Speaking of "Finchel" there is great news for Cory Monteith and his real life girlfriend Lea Michele
on April 26th Cory got out of rehab and has been doing great. Lea has been by his side since he got out and rumors have been swirling that she is very excited about her future with Cory and is having "baby fever". So who knows maybe in the near future we will have a glee baby to admire and watch. I wish these two all the best and can't wait to see what their (and their characters) futures hold.
